All the students and staff at Cornerstone Preschool, 1098 S. 5th Ave, were able to safely evacuate the building after a ventilation fan in a bathroom caught fire Thursday afternoon. There were no injuries.

On Dec. 13, 2007, a group of 30 or so volunteers for the Salvation Army began putting food donations into the boxes that will be distributed to about 1,200 low-income families in the Yuma area.

The Salvation Army provided food boxes to 300 families in the Yuma area Wednesday (Dec. 19), the first day of its holiday assistance program.
