Yuma police, with the assistance of several other area law enforcement agencies, are currently in the area of County 9th Street and Levy Road looking for a prisoner who escaped from custody Tuesday afternoon while at the Yuma Municipal Court.

No charges were filed Tuesday against Cody Slaughter in Somerton Justice Court. Slaughter attended the hearing via vidro feed from Yuma County Jail.

One year ago Saturday, multiple shootings were reported in Yuma County, including one in downtown Yuma. This was the scene last year as Yuma Police officers pieced together what happened in Yuma while Sheriff's officials investigated in Wellton.
